Comprehensive Vision and Eye Health Examinations
Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. The entire exam process can take an hour depending on the complexity of the problem. Each patient will be evaluated with a refraction, slit lamp examination, intraocular pressure measurement, visual field evaluation and a retinal exam.
For patients with cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration or other eye conditions, our doctors can detect, treat and monitor the severity of your eye disease until it is necessary to make a referral to a trusted ophthalmologist for further management, if needed.
Pediatric Eye Care
We take pride in maintaining the vision of our younger patients in an environment that is lighthearted and fun. We want to ensure the good sight, vision, and eye health for the rest of your child's life and take a preventative approach to his/her general health and eye health. We will work with your child's primary care physician to help keep his/her eyes healthy. It is important that all of our pediatric patients have healthy and efficient visual systems to help make visual demands of learning in school easier and fun.
Contact Lens Exams and Fittings
At our office, we offer a comprehensive array of contact lenses to suit each individual patient's needs. This includes patients with astigmatism and also those who prefer bifocal or multifocal lenses. We offer daily disposables, extended wear soft lenses and also specialty contact lenses for myopia control. We offer regular and custom lens services for both healthy and difficult to fit patients.
Myopia Control
Myopia (also known as nearsightedness) is progressive eye disorder which affects vision, quality of life and increases eye health risks across a person's lifetime. Myopia is not just a vision issue to correct with glasses, but has slowly become an epidemic, affecting about 30% of the global population as of 2020. This is evident as we have seen myopia starting at much younger ages in children than before. Myopia control is particularly important for children, because this is the stage in life when myopia is most likely to progress or worsen quickly.
There are numerous myopia control treatments available, including special types of spectacle lenses (glasses), soft contact lenses, Ortho-K contact lenses and atropine eye drops. Our optometrists are certified to prescribe Paragon-CRT Ortho K contact lenses, the first therapeutic lens design that is approved by the FDA for overnight orthokeratology for the temporary reduction of myopia.
Emergency/Urgent Medical Office Visits
Our doctors are trained to detect and treat a variety of eye diseases and ailments including eye infections, abrasions, allergies, foreign bodies and much more. Contact our office if you are experiencing any irritation, discomfort, or pain to the eyes and we will help you resolve the issue.
Refractive (LASIK) and Cataract Surgery Co-Management
Interested in getting LASIK or cataract surgery? Our optometrists are affiliated with NVISION Eye Centers, iQ Laser Vision, and other local ophthalmology practices. After an examination at our office, our doctors can determine if you are a good candidate for surgery, and if so, will help setup a consultation with a surgeon.
